Do You Remember: 93 ’til Infinity

Long before streaming algorithms tried to tell us what a “vibe” is, Souls of Mischief defined it. If you grew up in the ’90s, you remember the moment 93 ’til Infinity floated through the speakers with that unmistakably mellow bass line, those effortless Hieroglyphics flows, and the way the whole room seemed to vibe at once.

Born out of East Oakland’s and Berkeley’s fertile underground hip-hop landscape, Souls of Mischief carved out a lane that set them apart from the harder-edged G‑funk dominating the West Coast at the time. Their sound was laid‑back yet lyrically razor‑sharp…jazzy, clever, youthful, and deeply rooted in Bay Area creativity. Their breakout single 93 ’til Infinity became the anthem for chilling with your crew, sparking one up, or cruising with your lady, all without ever raising the tempo or the tension.

And despite its relaxed energy, the track made some serious noise on the charts. 93 ’til Infinity became the group’s only single to land on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 72 in 1993. The song also reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs and saw additional placements across R&B and dance charts, helping cement its legacy as a quietly groundbreaking West Coast classic.

Today, more than three decades later, 93 ’til Infinity still turns heads and nods them too. A timeless reminder that sometimes, the coolest flex is just knowing how to chill from 93 ’til.
