Message from The Taborian
Welcome to The Taborian, an online literary publication that celebrates the diversity and richness of human experiences. We believe in the power of words to advance society and understanding, and we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and empowerment.
In the first issue of The Taborian, you will find our digital cover features a photomontage called Paul Hartland Carnival. Composition with Two Masks by Lazslo Moholy-Nagy. The Taborian is committed to preserving and sharing art that may have been forgotten or is on the verge of being forgotten. Therefore, each issue’s digital cover will feature art from the public domain.
Speaking of public domain, The Taborian will feature literature from renowned, unknown, or forgotten authors whose work is now available in the public domain. Our first issue includes written works from Etsu Inagaki Sugimoto, Zitkala-Sa, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and Edward Smyth Jones.
We are excited to present four essays and two poems written by Paul Hostovsky, Jasmine M. Taylor, Dee Allen, D. Rodrigues-Martin, and Amari Pleasant. Many thanks to these writers, who submitted their written works for us to share with the world! As you will see, their works are beautifully written and articulate thoughtful perspectives covering deaf people, African-American culture, becoming a writer, and losing a love one.
As you read through the issue, you will come across the Riddle, Do You Know, and Wise Words sections, which are designed to stimulate learning and thinking. The Taborian also features a comic strip called Silhouette, which reflects on the absurdity of hypocrisy.
Towards the end of the issue, you will find Word Search and Slider games to exercise your brain. In the Non-Fic Pick section we list three non-fiction books that we believe are good reads and provide valuable information for understanding the world. Finally, if you enjoy The Taborian’s content, please consider signing up for our email list so we can stay connected. If you like to provide a comment on a written work, you can by emailing us at [email protected].
We look forward to exploring the world of literature with you. Welcome to our community!
Sincerely,
The Taborian
